Zoya and Lilypad Lacquer

Hi all! In the Aussie nails group this week we are trying to use our untried polishes, I don't have a huge amount compared to some of the girls, I have around 30 untrieds, so today I have used my untried zoya jem and stamped it with lilypad lacquer Vanellope (which isn't untried but shhhhh).

Jem is such a pretty really deep purple, it almost borders on being a really dark red, it's gorgeous! Vanellope is a minty green holo but unfortunately you can't really see that with the stamping.

For the stamping I used 2 plates that I got from Born Pretty Store. They were plate to-02 and plate m85.

Now the pictures!

I couldn't angle my thumb properly for a good picture, but you get the idea (I hope!).

Anyway, just a quick post today, I have to run and get ready for work now. Bye for now!

*SPOILER ALERT* August What's In-die Box?!

Hi all, yesterday I received August's what's in-die box?! I am sure I have said it before but I seriously love this concept! I'm one of the lucky ones who has so far gotten my box pretty quickly so it's been a surprise each time when opening.

This months theme was "Wreck It Ralph". I still haven't seen this movie but it is on my list. The contributors from this month were Glam PolishPeita's PolishLilypad LacquerGloss 'n Sparkle and Sayuri Nail Lacquer. I was pretty excited to get my first Sayuri too!

Ooh the suspense!

So prettily packaged.

From left to right is Sayuri Fro Cone, Peita's Polish Ralph, Lilypad Lacquer Vanellope, Glam Polish King Of All The Candy!!! and Gloss 'n Sparkle Bad Anon.

Fro Cone is a dusty purple packed with glitter! Purple, orange and holo glitter in different shapes and sizes. It's so pretty.

Ralph is a gorgeous glitter bomb. Packed with orange glitter that has pops of blue glitter throughout.

Vanellope is amazing!!! It is a gorgeous minty holo, my first Lilypad lacquer holo and it definitely won't be the last!

King of all the candy!!! is another glitter bomb topper. There are so many different glitters in this polish that I don't even know where to start. Gold, red, purple, white, holo, so many different shapes and sizes too!

Bad anon is a black jelly base packed with glitter. Lots of it is holo so I'm not even sure what colours are in there, lets just say, it's super shiny!

I am currently wearing Vanellope and it doesn't disappoint.

It is a litter more green in real life but this picture shows off the holo nicely.

I've done some swatch sticks of the other colours but its just a quick photo so you don't get the full effect of all the polishes.

Next month's theme is Sex and the City, I'm super excited about this because I love love love sex and the city! If you want any more information about it next month it is being run by Peita's Polish so check out her  etsy store. My order is already in ;)

Thanks for reading! Bye for now,

Color Club holo and stamping

Hi all, I got a new polish the other day! Color Club halo-graphic. It's so pretty! Tonight's mani is a base of halo-graphic and stamped with NOPI All Kendall-ed Up.

I'm actually really pleased with how it turned out for once. Normally I'm never happy with my stamping!

This picture was taken in sunlight.

I took this picture indoors so you can see the stamping a bit better. I used stamping plate M85 as well.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Bye for now,

July What's In-die Box?! *Pic Heavy*

Hi all, today I have the super awesome "what's in-die box" to share with you all!

To start off, "what's in-die box" is a monthly box that contains 5 polishes from Australian indie polish makers. Every month will contain Glam PolishPeitas Polish and Lilypad Lacquer as well as 2 other contributors each month. This month was Mckfresh Nail Attire and Shades Of Phoenix. Each month also has a theme, this month was "Little Miss". Each month you preorder the box if you want it and they get shipped out on a certain date. This is great because it means if you don't want it or can't afford it one month then you don't have to get it. If you're interested in preordering the August box you can do so over at the Glam Polish blog (sorry international readers, it is not available for International shipping at the moment).

Now on to the fun bits! Sorry in advance for the crappy iPhone pics.

This was how I received it. I hadn't seen other pictures before I got it either so it was a total surprise.

First up is Lilypad lacquer I Am Miss Haughty Taughty (I haven't swatched all of these either so the description is based on just what I can see in the bottle) it is packed with different shades of green and holo glitter with some large pink and yellow hex glitter throughout it. It's really pretty in the bottle and would be a great topper over a green creme. I can't wait to try it out.

Next up is Mckfresh nail attire Whoops! It is a pale purple shimmery base with a little tiny silver glitter throughout it, also white rectangles, long black bar glitter, black hexes and pink circles. It looks gorgeous in the bottle and this is one I swatched and found the glitter a bit difficult. I've never used a polish with bar glitter in it before and I found that getting the placement right took some time, not always a bad thing but I'm usually too lazy for that. The wear has been pretty good though. I put it on Thursday night and it is now Saturday night and its still going strong. I usually leave work on Friday afternoon with my polish badly chipped but this survived the whole shift without even any signs of tip wear!

This picture is with 3 coats and a top coat of seche vite.

Next is Peitas Polish I'm A Chatterbox. I love love love this polish!!! I think it is my favourite from this months box. It is a gorgeous glitter topper that is packed full of pink matte glitter with some blue and yellow matte glitter sprinkled throughout. I have a picture of this one but I will post it a bit further below as I used it over the top of the Shades of Phoenix polish.

Next up is Glam Polish Little Miss Naughty. The first thing I noticed about this is that the glitter is a bit sinky. I haven't swatched it yet so I don't know if this will effect performance. I will update once its been swatched. In the bottle though it is a pretty light purple polish with small holo glitter as well as pink, green and silver holo squares. I really like the colour of this one.

Last but not least is Shades of Phoenix Little Miss Bad. This is a gorgeous pale milky blue with pink and blue glitter in various shapes and sizes and black squares. The glitter came out really easily with no fishing required.

The next photo is 2 coats of little miss bad with one coat of I'm a chatterbox with a top coat of seche vite.

Once the rest of the polishes are swatched I will post them up for you all to see :)

Thanks for reading! Bye for now.

Born Pretty Store holo polish!

Hey guys, today I have a born pretty store holo polish to show you all. I am a huge fan of holos, they are just so pretty!

I haven't had a chance to check this polish out in sunlight yet but I have taken some pics under direct light and indirect light. It's really hard to get the holo to show in photos, but like I said, I haven't seen this baby in sunlight yet. The one I am posting pics of is #8 but I also bought #2 at the same time.

This is going to be a pic heavy post, sorry in advance!

Sorry for the icky hand colouring, it was the best pic of the holo so I had to post it!

This picture was taken in indirect light.

What do you guys think? I will see if I can get some better pics in the sun tomorrow and will update if/when that happens (we've had incredibly crappy weather here the last few days so it could take a while for that to happen).

Have a great weekend guys! Bye for now,

Covergirl, gloss n' sparkle and sinful colors

Hi all, today I have some holo goodness to show you all! I'm really happy with this mani, it is the first time I've been really happy with the way my stamping has turned out and it also has holo, what could be better?!

The pink I used is covergirl everbloom, it is a pretty pink creme, the white is sinful colors snow me white and that holo! Oh my, it is gorgeous and the best part of it is that I can use it to make anything holo! It is gloss n' sparkle spectraflair holographic top coat. If you're a fan of holo polish then you need this! You can find the shop here

Now for the pictures!

This picture was taken outside in direct sunlight.

This was taken inside and as you can see it still has a beautiful holo effect.

The stamping plate I used was from the born pretty store and can be found here

Thanks for reading guys, I hope you like my mani as much as I do! Bye for now,

- Naomi

Savvy by DB

Hi all, I have some new polishes to show you today. The brand is Savvy by DB, I bought my first 3 polishes from this brand today and so far I am impressed! They are exclusive to Priceline pharmacy and cost $3 each which is a total bargain!

I got UFO, razzle & dazzle, and galaxy

The mani I am currently wearing is 2 coats of UFO topped with one coat of razzle & dazzle, before I put pics of that up I have some individual pics of the swatch sticks.

Galaxy is a gorgeous green foil duochrome, I couldn't capture it properly but you can see a little of the gold flecks through it in this picture.

UFO is actually a lovely deep purple with a subtle gold shimmer through it. This picture absolutely does no justice to the colour. Purples are so hard to photograph!

Razzle & dazzle is gorgeous! It is gold micro glitter with rose gold hex glitter scattered through it. It is so pretty!

Now for my current mani!

As I said before I am wearing 2 coats of UFO and 1 coat of razzle and dazzle. Sorry for the bad lighting!

Anyway, that was my purchase for the day :) did anyone else find anything new?

Bye for now,

- Naomi

Arcane + Ulta3 glitter gradient

Hi all, hope you're all having a good Tuesday. Today I have a quick glitter gradient to show you. It didn't turn out exactly as I had hoped but it looks alright.

For the base colour I used ulta3 soft hydrangea and the glitter gradient was done with arcane lacquer what a calamity?

I really love the arcane polishes, they are so pretty and I'm slowly working my way through my collection. Bec, the mastermind behind the brand has opened an etsy store so you can now purchase her amazing creations that way.

Thanks for reading, bye for now,

KKCenterHK Review

Hi all, recently I was asked to do my first review for the online store KKcenterHK .

Their nail art decorations are really cute and there are so many to choose from! I received N.Nail 2.5mm mix star glitter (NNAIL-Mix-Star-2-5-mm) .

I picked out some of the gold stars for my mani because I like to keep things the same. I'm really happy with how they turned out. The stars were incredibly easy to use and they look really nice.

Next up was some N.NAIL Studs Circular Pink 2mm Nail Art Decorations (NNAIL-DRN664) .

I've never used studs before but I found it to be extremely easy. Make sure you work with one nail at a time, use a slow dry top coat and place the studs where you want them to be. I then finished it off with a coat of seche vite. Unfortunately the stamping that I did got a little smudged but overall I'm happy with the final results. The studs look really cute as the flower centres too.

My experience with this company has been very positive and I will definitely be purchasing from them in the future. As an added bonus they have offered my readers a 10% off for orders valid until 31st Jan 2014. Simply use the code "justanotherpolishjunkie" how great is that!

Thanks for reading, bye for now,

- Naomi

*disclosure - items were sent to me free of charge by the store for review*

Arcane + Revlon moon candy

Hi all, it's been a while again I know, I've been wearing naked nails for the last week to try and get my cuticles in order (which, by the way, didn't work! I got lazy and kept forgetting to use my cuticle oil).

Anyway, today I decided to try Arcane Luna Madness. This colour is gorgeous! It's a black jelly base with pink and blue glitter. I'm not a big fan of wearing black nail polish but this one works. I like!

So after wearing Luna madness all day I went into target this afternoon and found the Revlon moon candy I've been wanting and it was the last one so of course I had to buy it! I kept Luna madness as my undies and put 2 coats of the flakie side on top. WOW! It is so pretty! I can't stop staring at it!

It reminds me of a black opal. Seriously gorgeous! Thanks for reading, bye for now :)

All the Arcane goodness!

Hi all, last week I received my amazing Arcane order in the mail! It was my Mother's Day present (gosh my 3 year old knows me well haha). I've been a bit slow putting up a post about this but honestly I've been really unhappy with the pictures I took. My cuticles are a mess at the moment and I could never get the colours to show properly in the pictures. Needless to say I was almost not going to post anything but I have changed my mind so you will just need to see my horrible pictures.

Firstly, this is what I got

Don't mind my horrible computer table, it's seen better days! These polishes are so gorgeous! I cat wait for the next preorder for Arcane because from what I've seen so far, they are well worth the wait! If you're interested in ordering any from her next lot you can find out details over at Nail Gun XS

The first one I tried was Bated Breath (chosen by my 3 yr old). It is a super cute shimmery pale green filled with more glitter than you would think.

I really liked this colour. I used 3 coats for the above photo.

Next up is The Power The Passion. I am soooo in love with this colour! It is a gorgeous deep purple absolutely jam packed with different coloured glitter.

Definitely not the best picture but you can see the lovely holo glitter in this picture.  Last but not least is An Amorous Disposition. This is another one I am in love with. It's a gorgeous pink with black, pink and silver glitter through it.

This photo truly doesn't do the colour any justice. It is so amazing when you see it in person!

So far they are the only ones I have tried but you can bet it won't be long until you see the rest of these babies! The whole collection is just amazing and I'm so glad I was able to get them all!

Thanks for reading! Bye for now,

- Naomi

Eye shadow pigment nail art

Hi all, I will start off with saying happy Mother's Day to any mums out there. I hope you all had a brilliant day! My little guy made me a card, a bag of potpourri and bought me some nail polish (of course!).

Today I decided to try something different. I found a tutorial for this from the lovely Bec from Nail Gun XS , it was a guest post she wrote for the Lacquer Heads of Oz blog.

It is basically using loose eye shadow pigments for nail art. Hers look amazing! Mine are ok for a first attempt ;) I only had 2 loose shadows so not a huge choice to make. I used Pretty Serious CGA and a natio one that I can't remember the name of and it's worn off.

I used china glaze emotion as the base polish for this and I think it was a little too similar to the natio powder for it to really work. Next time I will use something different.

Here is a pic of the final result.

And a bit more of a close up just for good measure.

This nail art is super messy so be prepared for the clean up. The extra acetone totally dried out my cuticles, these pics were taken AFTER using cuticle oil and moisturiser! Overall though I quite like how it turned out and I will definitely do this again... Perhaps after I invest in some more Pretty Serious eye shadows ;) Let me know if you try this, I would love to see what everyone else comes up with.

Bye for now!

Pretty Serious review

Hi all, it's been a while again, I know, I just haven't done much worth blogging about lately.

Yesterday I received my first Pretty Serious order and I can't believe I waited so long to try this! The polishes are amazing! They go on so smoothly.

I got poltergeist puddle, atomic brain, galaxy invader and phantom planet, plus an eyeshadow (CGA) and a lipgloss (forbidden fruit). So far I've only tried poltergeist puddle and atomic brain but both have been gorgeous!

Today I have some pics of poltergeist puddle for you all. I did take a pic of atomic brain too but it was just a quick one before I had to run off to work so I've left that out for now.

Here is a close up bottle shot. This colour is seriously amazing.

I am loving this brand and will definitely be ordering from them again. The customer service is fantastic and postage was really quick. The eyeshadow is gorgeous and the lipgloss smells so yummy and both go on lovely too.

Thanks for reading! Bye for now,

- Naomi
