Light it up blue for autism part 4

Hey all, time for another blue mani. I really like this one. I was a the shops yesterday and picked up some covergirl polish for $3 each. I got midnight magic, out of the blue and everbloom. They're really nice and a great price.

The mani I have done today uses midnight magic and out of the blue. I also used some silver striping tape and some nail art stickers. It was really simple but looks like it took a lot of effort. I love those kinds of manis, max effect for minimal effort :)

Here are some pics of what I used.

Now for some pics of the mani.

Not a whole heap of pics today (for once!).

Also, don't forget about the auction for the one of a kind blue polishes, auction started on 20th April and ends 30th April. For more info check out the Paint It Blue Charity Auction

Bye for now!

Work appropriate nails

Evening all, so tonight I'm going to share with you my work appropriate nails. This is not something I usually care about but as I use my hands a lot in my job I got sick of having super noticeable chipping after only being at work for an hour.

Today I wore sinful colors purple diamond. It is a super pale purple, I would say its almost a pale pink, it's also quite sheer with only one coat so I used 2, and since I couldn't just leave it at that I have put 1 coat of sinful colors I miss you on my thumb and ring finger. It is a really pretty glittery purple, one coat was enough to be noticeable but not over the top.

So after all that I went to work today and had no chipping! Not even any tip wear! Must remember to wear sinful colors to work more often if they're going to be that good!

Here are some pics.

Sorry for the super similar pics, I couldn't choose which one showed it off best. What's your favourite polish to wear to work?

Thanks for reading! Bye for now,

- Naomi

Light it up blue for autism part 3

Hey all, I've been a bit slack with the blue nails lately because I've been sick. I managed to do some last night, they're not great but I like them anyway.

I used china glaze secret peri-wink-le and china glaze Dorothy who. I seriously love Dorothy who, it is so pretty!!!

Just a quick post today because I'm still sick but wanted to get the post up. Have a great day all!

Bye for now,

NOTD - Australis + Sinful Colors

Hi all, so I did something almost by accident last night and I am really pleased with how it's turned out! I don't share every single mani I do here (although I usually post them all on instagram if you want to see them - @naibabi) I only share the ones I really like or are a little bit more special than just a plain colour on my nails. This was going to be one of those but then something happened!

So I started out with just Australis Milky Way. After one coat on my thumb I realised it was going to need quite a few coats as it is so sheer so instead I put one coat of sinful colors snow me white and then 2 coats of Australis Milky Way. After top coating I was looking at my nails and thinking just how white they are (not usually my thing, I've only previously used Milky Way as a feature nail) and I kind of didn't really like it all that much. Then I decided to try something a little different. I put one coat of sinful colors Bali mist on each nail and then top coated. It looks so pretty! Because Bali mist is so sheer it really just gives it a pretty tinted pink look over the top and gets rid of that overly white look. Over all I'm really happy with how it turned out. Check out the pics below. Sorry for the icky cuticles, I forgot to moisturise before taking the pics.

The bright pics are taken with flash and the darker pics are without flash, just so you can get a good idea of how it looks in both lights :)

Thanks for reading guys, I hope you have a great Monday.

Bye for now!

Nomination for best blog award!

Nomination for Best Blog Award!

This is the first time I have been nominated for a blog award so I would like to thank Lily Loves Louise

The rules for this award are to answer the questions asked of you by the blog that nominated you, then you need to nominate up to 20 other blogs with less than 200 followers and ask 11 questions of them!

Questions:

1. If you were trapped on a desert island, what would be the one beauty product you couldn't live without?
I would like to say nail polish, but in reality it would be lip balm. It drives me crazy if my lips are dry and I don't have any lip balm with me.

2. What nail polish is your single favourite, above all others?
That's a tough one because it changes a lot but for a colour probably china glaze strawberry fields and for a glitter topper china glaze fairy dust.

3. What is your favourite least-known beauty tip?
Haha nothing! Apart from nail polish I very rarely wear any other make up so I'm a bit of a beauty noob :)

4. How many siblings do you have?
I have one younger brother, he is one of my best friends.

5. What inspired you to start blogging? Another blog, a life experience?
Nothing in particular, I just wanted somewhere I could post my manicure pictures and write a little about them so I could look back and see how I have progressed.

6. What is your favourite colour?
Pink or green, but I'm very particular about greens. I love the dark emerald kind of greens not the lime/neon/olive/khaki greens.

7. Have you ever felt disheartened in your blogging experience?
Not really, when I first started I had heaps of views and comments and then it dwindled a lot, I guess that was a little disheartening but nothing huge.

8. Who is your secret (or not so secret) girl crush?
Ksenia Solo who plays Kenzi on Lost Girl. She is Ah-MA-Zing!!! Also Cristina Sabbia, the singer from Lacuna Coil. Can you see I have a type?

9. How old were you when you fell in love for the first time?
I think I was about 18. Plenty of "I thought it was love" before that but this was totally different.

10. What is your most lusted after beauty product at the moment?
BB cream! That stuff looks amazing! If it really does what it claims to then I must have it!

11. If you were going to share one secret with your readers that no-one else knew about, what would it be?
Haha nothing, I'm really bad at keeping my own secrets so there is always at least a couple of people out there who know my secrets.

Blogs I nominate for "Best Blog" Award:

1. Coat of Mani Colors
2. Enamoured with Enamel
3. Lacquerheads of Oz
4. It's All About The Polish
5. Ten Little Nubs
6. Faithfully Polished
7. Nailed by Jasmine
8. The Darkside of Polish
9. A Polished Prance
10. ErinZi's Nails

My 11 Questions are:

1. What is your biggest lemming?
2. If you could be anyone for a day who would you be?
3. What is your best tip for someone new to the polish world?
4. Do you have a daily beauty routine? What is it?
5. What is your favourite thing to do on a rainy day?
6. What brand of polish do you own the most of?
7. What is your favourite movie and why?
8. What is your system for storing polish?
9. If you could make any polish what would it be and what would you call it?
10. What is your most hated nail art trend?
11. What is our favourite holiday destination?

Check out the above blogs for some great nail art/tips and to see their answers to my questions!

Bye for now!

Autism awareness part 2

Hi guys,

I'm here today with my third mani for autism awareness, I didn't blog about the second one but you can see a picture on my instagram - @naibabi

I also would like to share with you all what the lovely Tara from Loki's Lacquer is doing! She has organised an auction with a whole lot of other indie polish makers where you get the chance to bid on a one of a kind custom blue polish made specially to raise money for autism awareness. For more information click the picture below.

Now for a couple of pictures of my own.

I got some new nail stickers the other day so decided to give them a try. I like them, they're cute, although I should probably use them when I'm not using glitter!

Thanks for reading! I hope you get lucky enough to win one of the amazing custom blue polishes if you are putting in a bid, the previews so far have been amazing!

Bye for now,

Light it up blue for autism awareness!

Hey guys, I know it's been a while since I posted. It's been pretty crazy here, but I'm back today with something that is close to my heart.

Tomorrow is world autism awareness day and the whole month of April is autism awareness month. Whilst my son is not on the spectrum, I do have quite a few friends who have children with asd. I have seen how difficult it is for them, the amount of hoops they have to jump through to get help for their children and the amount of judgement they receive from other people who don't know the whole story and just assume the parents aren't disciplining or the child is just naughty. I've heard horror stories of the bullying these children go through because they are "different" and it honestly breaks my heart. There needs to be a lot more awareness out there, because despite what people may think, autism is becoming more common with 1 in 88 children being diagnosed.

For the month of April the nail community is banding together to light it up blue for autism awareness. Some of us will have blue nails for the whole month, some of us are doing it once a week and some of us are just doing it for tomorrow, it all helps to spread the awareness so if you would like to participate you can check out the facebook group http://www.facebook.com/groups/PaintItBlue or check the instagram hashtags, #bluenailsforautism or #lightitupbluenails

I am joining in with going blue as often as possible, but at lease once a week. Here is my first contribution.

If you can join in on helping to spread the awareness please do!

Thanks for reading guys! Bye for now.
